Overview of PhD Program in Management

The PhD program in Management aims to prepare future business leaders in a globalized world. The program offers major tracks in organization management and financial management and has proudly been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since February 2016. It is also rated by the Ministry of Education as a top English program in Taiwan because of its state-of-the-art learning facilities and the composition of the students and faculties which is truly international, among other strengths. All of our faculty members in this program hold a doctoral degree from decent universities.

Overview of IMBA

The IMBA Program aims at nurturing future managers and professionals with a strategic and international mindset capable of serving and competing in the global business world. The courses constitute a package to include foundation, function and advanced cores.

This program requires 45 credits, including a 6-credit thesis. The course structure is designed for students to fulfill the requirements in two years starting from the Fall semester, extendable to a maximum of four years. Students can choose to suspend studentship temporarily for up to two years. The period of suspension is not counted toward the four-year limit.

The courses offered in the program, both required and elective, are listed in the Table appended to the Guideline. The numbers in the parentheses after the course titles refer to the number of credits. The courses are taught mainly during weekdays. A registered student is required to take a minimum of one course and a maximum of 15 credits per semester.

Students having successfully completed the graduate-level course(s) in English at other accredited universities within three years are entitled to apply for course waiving up to 12 credits. The application should be made before the end of the first week of the applicant’s first semester into the program.

Each student is required to find a faculty member to be his/her thesis supervisor before the end of March in the second semester. The supervisor has to be an assistant professor or above. To ensure thesis quality, each supervisor is restricted to guiding up to four IMBA students.
